There are over 20 reasons why reading is important for the development of our future generation. However, in small language regions, no books are available for them and in all other regions many young people are losing interest to read.

The Young Readers Foundation wants to make it possible for every child and young adults to read interesting books in their own language en encourage everyone everywhere to read.

Some observations

What is it about?

Reading books is important. You can acquire knowledge, increase memory and imagination, are able to do more and better critical thinking, and it improves language and communication skills, to name some. Reading books is extremely important. Especially for children and young adults, because it makes them stronger to face the challenges of the future.

Unfortunately… Not all young people have the opportunity to read. Many live in language areas where almost no books are available and others are so addicted to social media that there is no time nor interest to read a good book.

The Young Readers Foundation wants to develop initiatives that, on the one hand,supports authors and publishers in small language areas in publishing books for children and young adults and, on the other hand, encourage young people to read more books and improve their reading skills.

How can you help

Be our eyes and ears

No, we don’t want you to spy. We just could use your knowledge to help us map all small language areas in the world or closer by, where you think our help can be useful. In these areas we need to know if there are authors and publishers that we can contact and work with. If you have some bright ideas that could help us further, don’t hesitate, let us know.

Making a donation

We would lie to you if we said that we did not need your money. If we really want to make the difference, we need a lot of money, which is why we also started a crowd funding. We are not a government organization and therefore do not receive any support from any state. All our financial resources come from people like you. And we are extremely grateful for that.

Our Services

Support authors

We want to give talented authors in small language areas, who write books for young people, full support. If you’re such an author let us know and together we’ll figure out the best way to get your book available for young readers.

Support publishers

We also want to support publishers in these small language areas. Work together with them and make it possible for them to survive and create books for young readers. If you’re a publisher in a small language area, contact us. We want to know you.

Help schools

We want to go in communication with schools and find out wat initiatives can be taken to get students to read more books.

Promote reading

We want to promote the reading of books to young people on social media and other platforms. Make them aware of the benefits.

Our Mission

The Young Readers Foundation (YRF) consists of a group of enthusiastic volunteers who understand the importance of reading books and want to promote this to others. They all have the common goal of inspiring young people to read more and making it possible for everyone and everywhere to read.

Get Involved

Donating gives us the means to further expand our organization and to achieve our objectives more easily. But the dedication of volunteers in small language areas gives us a strong connection on the ground and is of vital importance.
